And that’s not all. We also give you some money-saving tips to help you plan your trips.

Let’s get started! 5 exotic destinations at the best prices

Vietnam

Vietnam is undoubtedly one of the cheapest destinations for travelling alone or with a companion. In this country, you can get cheap food in the local markets. Vietnam also has its quota of luxury restaurants.

In terms of activities and tourist attractions, the traveller will find a wide range of offerings in Vietnam. Doing some research before you go will save you time and money. Whether it’s spending a night in Halong Bay or taking a cooking class, in Vietnam you’ll find plenty of things to do on the cheap.

In addition, there are many modes of transport available to foreign tourists. Trains and buses are among the best options. However, this country does have one thing in common with major European cities: when using public transport, be careful with your luggage and your wallet.

Indonesia

You may be surprised to learn that Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world. In fact, it has almost 240 million inhabitants. This, together with the many small islands that make up the country, creates a landscape that is very different from what we are used to.

You can see active volcanoes, visit a remote village in the Baliem Valley, get lost in the bustle of the shopping districts, or simply relax on the beach. With so many interesting options, it’s hard to go wrong.

Jamaica

Think you can’t afford a trip to the Caribbean? Think again. A trip to Jamaica might just be the exotic holiday you’ve always dreamed of. And what’s more… at a price you can afford.

Jamaica is renowned for its beautiful turquoise beaches and hospitality. There’s nothing like relaxing on the golden sands with fresh fruit juices in the sunshine.

And of course, there are other activities besides the beach. You can go horseback riding in its lush green mountains or raft down the Martha Brae River. And don’t miss the famous Dunn’s River Falls if you’re looking for a fun day out in the great outdoors.

Mexico

Every year, Mexico makes the list of the cheapest exotic destinations. That doesn’t mean it’s not worth a visit. With its white sand and crystal clear waters, Playa del Carmen is a real gem. The bus journey from Cancún International Airport is very quick. And accommodation in Playa del Carmen is much cheaper than in the crowded resort of Cancún. The two cities are actually quite close. So don’t miss the elegant shops, restaurants and nightlife of Decima Avenida.

And then there’s Zihuatanejo, a small town on the Pacific coast near Ixtapa. The atmosphere here is quieter and less touristy than in the centre, although it is a stone’s throw from Ixtapa, a town where you can shop, dine and enjoy the nightlife.

Thailand

If you want to get the most out of your money, make sure you don’t stay in Bangkok for too long. A stay in this bustling capital is in itself an experience worth having. However, accommodation and food are much cheaper elsewhere in Thailand.

And there’s plenty to see outside the capital too. For example, you can go on an adventure to Khao Phing Island, which is known as James Bond Island. There are also many places in the country where you can see tigers up close. So if this is on your wish list, Thailand is the place to do it.
